This is What Living Downtown During Art Walk is Like

You come home, but your garage door has been deactivated so that people who don’t live in your house are trying to park in your garage.
More than seven houses across the street turn up “My Sharona,” 40’s Big Band, and early Dre to extreme volumes.
At 8pm a kid on a bike drives by and throws 300 flyers for his DJ show in your front lawn.
At 8:30 a twenty-person Hare Krishna troupe enters your living room, sets up an amp, and proceeds to sing, drum, chant, dance and crash symbols for the next two hours. You think of trying to remove them, but the city has given them a permit for your living room.
At 9pm the Occupy Movement marches up to your door and blocks your street. They have marching drums and whistles and bull horns and proceed to chant “BOYCOTT SHELL” for the next 20 minutes.
Cops drive up and down your street yelling “STAY ON THE SIDEWALK” through PA systems to everyone they see in your neighborhood.
At 11, you let your dog out and it can’t pee because three drunk men are freestyle rapping where he usually goes.
You take your dog behind your house only to find a man urinating on your back door while two other men physically fight over a shopping cart full of empty bottles and cans.
You never once see any signs of “art.”
